As the cycling community would call it, I got "doored" Friday night riding my bike home from work.  Basically it was just like the movies only I wasn't the actor I was the stuntman taking the top of a car door directly to my chest cutting it wide open along with my leg, and hand.  Not to mention enough whiplash to my neck to where I couldn't lay my head down without feeling like a little man was pulling all the muscles out of my shoulder and neck.  Hurt like hell to say the least and I was out of commission for a few days.

But the waves were fun from Beryl!  And I got out at sunrise when the barrels came out to play. Pics below.

Thats what happens when the top edge of a car door  tries to behead you.  Day after.  Screw stitches.

I Need This Guys Name

What's up people there could be a chance of swell later on this weekend but I don't care about that now.

If anyone knows the name of the longboarder going left with the yellow board seen in the above photo can you please leave me a message.  I'll tell you guys what it's all about later but it's kind of a big deal.

Thanks for the help guys.

OMG a Post with Waves

I told myself a while ago, 'quality over quantity.' This past winter we had neither quality waves nor any quantity to speak about.  So finally we got some quality all day long.  Here we go...

Some of you know I also DJ at many of the local bars downtown.  I recently put a mix up.  Take a listen to it.

OMG A POST!!!!

Well we finally have been getting some surf and I actually surfed sans wetsuit and didn't get cold at all the other day.

Although we've had some surf I wasn't able to capture any waves.  Let me tell you why...

Last week was Charleston Fashion Week and I was given the opportunity to shoot every runway show.  I couldn't pass it down.  Let me just say this; I'm pretty set on what direction I want my life to go.  Photography is my passion and whether I'm shooting surf in the tropics or Miami Fashion Week, I'll never put my camera down.

So no fretting about the blog.  It isn't going anywhere.  Next swell it's on.

Editing over 4500 photos with deadlines is a daunting task.

Finally

Well we had some well deserved fun surf over the past few days.  Yup, I took pictures.  Yup, I surfed more than I shot.  Yup, I've been really busy with work hence the delay.  Here you go.  Pictures from Wednesdayish on.

Oh and the ASP is a joke.  Way to make our sport look like it's run by the stereotypical high school drop outs, stoner hippies the non surfing community views us as.  In no way am I diminishing the free spirit way of surfing.  But if the marketing gurus at the ASP aka "Quiksilver" (cue Mr. Martinez) want to put surfing on a higher pedestal then hire some people that know how to do 6th grade math.

This fall has been absolutely atrocious for the surfing community.  It's been cold and flat for what has seemed like months now.  Tomorrow looks like something will lap up on shore into Thursday.  Picture worthy?  Most likely I'll take a few shots.

I haven't surfed in forever though.

Because the winter months are upon us and the days of the summer time where we would ride waist high mush are over and now won't due to freezing temperatures and wetsuits, I'm going to start posting some cool stuff the surf community might like.  I'll post anything from event's happening in and around Charleston to music reviews or just random stupid stuff to keep everyone entertained.
